Disagree. Misinformation is deadly and can tear your life apart. If people decide to claim that you are a child abuser, the whole world will believe you are a child abuser, possibly forever. I was bullied most of my life, sometimes just staying positive isn't enough to reverse the damage.

No, don't be some pushover. Bring her/him to court, demand evidence, sue for slander, defamation, emotional damages, whatever will stick. If you let these toxic people off the hook, they'll repeat it to someone else. If you got fired because of e.g. wrong accusations, sue the company, the boss, the human resource person, whatever. that is so true, IF there is one manupilative narcistic shallow women that is in your group of friends and she doesnt like you, she will lie and try to turn the group against you. if you have a lot of women in your group and if she is a women, trust me .... women would probably believe this new female person over you BECAUSE she is suddenly great friends with one of your friends.
