Yeah, but the Democrats gave Trump something far worse than being removed. Trump is an egomaniac. Think of how much it eats him up knowing he now has something in common with the Clinton's, being impeached. The funny thing is, look what the Republicans were impeaching Clinton for, compared to things Trump's has done, Bill's impeachment looks like a joke by comparison.

Trump broke the law whether you like it or not. He solicited foreign help in the first election and got away with it so he tried again. Impeachment was necessary otherwise it's just like saying "there is no oversight and laws dont matter, do what you want". Pelosi didn't want to impeach him and tried everything not to but he forced her hand.

It's never been about getting him kicked out, every democrat knows that in the current climate that would not happen. It was about three things : showing that Trump is not allowed to do whatever he wants whenever he wants and the constitution has to be respected, showing that the republicans don't care about the country and only care about the parti, and shovelling enough dirt in Trump's face to ensure that anyone who is not totally totally blind will either not vote for him, or help get an other candidate up for elections.
